The instructor is Scott Stingley, a former NAMB (National Association of Mortgage Brokers) Regulatory Affairs Committee member. Most recently, Scott attended the MBA (Mortgage Bankers Association) conference break out session on residential loan origination compensation. Scott shares the current interpretations by numerous industry trade groups, lending institutions, and legal opinions. The Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Pub.L. 111-203, H.R. 4173) is a federal statute in the United States that was signed into law by President Obama on July 21, 2010. The Act is a product of the financial regulatory reform agenda of the Democratically-controlled 111th United States Congress and the Obama administration. Specifically, Title XIV - Mortgage Reform and Anti-Predatory Lending Act, defines how a “residential loan originator” may be compensated under this wide sweeping financial services reform initiative.
